Basic care and storage tips to help you enjoy your WORDS hat for a long time.
After wearing
Sweat and skin oils can damage the fabric. After wearing, lightly wipe the inner sweatband with a dry cloth and let the hat dry in a well-ventilated place. Direct sunlight can cause fading, so we recommend drying it in the shade.
Leaving it wet can cause stains or loss of shape.
When it gets dirty
Brush off surface dust with a brush or dry cloth. For spot stains, dampen a cloth with neutral detergent diluted in water, wring it out firmly, and dab the stain. Then wipe with a cloth dampened with water so no detergent is left behind.
Washing the whole hat in a washing machine can cause loss of shape or shrinkage. If the "Size & Material" section of the product page gives washing instructions, please follow them.
How to store
- Do not place the hat brim-down or crush it by stacking
- In the off-season, stuffing the crown with rolled-up paper or cloth helps it keep its shape
- Avoid humid places and store it somewhere well ventilated
- Do not leave it in direct sunlight for long periods
Concerned about shape or size
Models with an adjuster or size adjustment can be fine-tuned while you wear them. Forcing a hat to stretch can cause it to lose its shape, so if the size does not fit, please also consider our XL size hats.

FAQ
My hat got wet in the rain. What should I do?
Press a towel against it to absorb the moisture, reshape it, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded place. Heat from a hair dryer or heater can cause shrinkage or loss of shape.
I'm bothered by sweat odor.
The best measure is to wipe the sweatband with a dry cloth after wearing and let it dry in the shade. If the odor still bothers you, dampen a cloth with neutral detergent diluted in water, wring it out firmly, dab the area, and then wipe with a cloth dampened with water.
Can I wash it in a washing machine?
No. It can cause loss of shape or shrinkage. For spot stains, please wipe them off using the method described above.
